We love summer! Children, horses, sunshine, hard work and laughter…what could be better? Hybid’s Horsin’ Around Summer Program is the perfect way to introduce and/or develop your child’s love for horses and horse care. There’s no doubt that this friendly and fun program will become the highlight of your child’s summer vacation, so come see what everyone is talking about and join us for some serious horsin’ around!
What’s Included
Our day starts at 9:00* and ends at 1:00*, with a longer day on Thursdays** if you so choose. We start each morning with a morning meeting where we take attendance, introduce the instructors and staff, talk about our classes for the day and review the previous day’s unmounted classes. Our Ponies Rule!*** riders are led to their own barn and we are off and running.
Each child is assigned an individual counselor as well as a horse/pony to ride and care for. Each day they build upon the last with their riding, knowledge and barn management activities. Each week we continue to build on our knowledge from the week before so that if your child is coming multiple weeks they are not repeating what learned in previous weeks. Each week we have a horse related craft to take home, and Fridays is our Gymkhana day (games on horseback).
Each child will receive a Hybid Farm T-shirt as part of the tuition. Hybid Farm Caps are available for purchase for $15.00.
*We offer early drop off or late pick-up for any or all days when you just cannot be in two places at the same time. There is a $10.00 fee per hour for this service.
**On Thursdays we offer additional barn time with our Theme Thursday activities from 1:00- 3:00 for $50.00. Each year we add new activities or bring back some favorite ones. During this two-hour period your child will ride again and join in with the crazy antics of our counselors. Some of our previous themes included: The Circus, Olympics, The Wild, Wild West, County Fair, Animal Planet, Knights and Damsels, etc.
***Our Ponies Rule! is a division for our younger riders who would benefit from having one counselor for each child in addition to the instructor. This enables them to have closer supervision and the opportunity to learn at their own pace.
